Looking Forward to Tomorrow

This is one of my last blooming flowers of the year....man how did summer pass by so quick? It is crazy to think that we are now in the season of changing leaves, winter, Christmas...a new year...gosh it seems like yesterday we were all ringing in 2008 and now it's almost 2009. In any case, I am reframing the situation in that I am really looking forward to tomorrow and the weeks that follow. In those weeks, I will also be getting married, which needless to say is a big change in my tomorrow, but one that I am throughly prepared for and highly anticipating! Today was a half day at work, so I was able to come home, catch up on some sleep since the last two nights have not been the best (plus I am somewhat battling a head cold which does not make night time rest any easier), and do some tyding up. Tomorrow I am off to the city with Hannan to do some last minute shopping for the wedding and honeymoon, as well as just spend some much needed girltime together. Literally, we have only been planning to head to the city together for the past 8 months, so it is finally a reality! The only downer is that I will not be able to sleep in on my Saturday (my most important priority on the weekend!hehe). I am really looking forward to tomorrow!

Maternity Moments

I had the amazing opportunity to photography Andre & Laurie just a couple of months before they are blessed with the birth of their first child. This photo shoot went so smoothly, and there were SO MANY great shots, it was extremely difficult to choose my top favorites. They are such beautiful people that it is no surprise at all that my camera totally fell in love with both of them. I really hope they enjoy their pictures and savour these last few months before they begin their next incredible adventure into parenthood. Thank you to both of them for allowing me to capture such an incredible time in their lives. You both are such great friends to Matthew and I. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I, and my camera, loved capturing them for you to cherish forever!

Cool Quote

I just happened to come across a really cool random quote in my new scrapbooking magazine today that I thought I would share. I just love it, and I feel it really reflects why people can hold nostalgia so near and dear to their hearts, yet at the same time are always driven to move forward. In any case, I just thought it was a really cool quote and I just had to share. I will definitly have to incorporate this phrase on a scrapbook page or project one day! "We all have our time machines. Some take us back; they're called memories. Some take us forward; they're called dreams." ~ Jeremy Irons

Mothers & Daughters

Here is a collection of some of my favorite images I was able to capture while photographing an exceptional mother with her two beautiful daughters. I had lots of fun working with them and I really hope they enjoy my interpretation of the relationship these three share. These are some of my favorite moments. Thank you ladies for letting me photograph you! I hope you enjoy them.

Weekend Re-Cap

Well, as quickly as the weekend began it is now over and tomorrow is Monday! This weekend was great, as I was able to get some things done on Friday and then on Saturday we had went into the city for my aunt's 70th birthday. My cousin had made her a party, fully catered and with all of the trimmings. It was so beautiful outside that everyone just mingled and visited in her back yard. It was beautiful and a really great time. All of the little ones had a great time playing with each other too. However, one of my little cousins had an unfortunate accident which led her to the emergency room last night only to end up having surgery on her arm today. She will be fine, but she needed to have repairs made to the bones in her elbow. We drove home last night and I spent the day baking and cleaning. Matthew is on his way down to Estevan to work for 10 days so I made him some cookies to take along. Then tonight we are going to finish the weekend off by spending some quality time watching a movie together. Just a simple ending to a simple, yet very enjoyable weekend. Let's hope tomorrow is a start to a great week!

Great Visit=Good for the Soul

Today was a great day. I was surprisingly able to leave work early this afternoon which gave me a chance to go and visit a very dear friend who I haven't seen in a while. It is Shelly's birthday tomorrow, so I took the opportunity to deliver her birthday gift to her. We had the best afternoon catching up and discussing everything and anything. Her and I could literally sit and chat for hours. Her personality has the greatest energy! I am glad that I was able to spend some much needed time with her, it made me feel so good and rejuvenated to just catch up on everything. She will be coming back to work with me this winter, so it will be fun to be back into our old routine as well. I am so thankful to have such amazing relationships in my life. They really are the truest and best gifts around!

1 Month To Go!

It seems only like yesterday when Matthew had asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. However, that was well over a year ago and in exactly 1 month, we will be exchanging vows. Looking back on it all, it really has been an incredible ride. Ups and downs, highs and lows, but I would not trade it for the world. We literally started as kids, not really knowing too much, with little responsibility, who now find themselves in a completely different world. Together, we have both chased our dreams and began travelling our life's path and I have enjoyed every second with you. I am so excited to begin our new life together and start planning and building our future. So much has happened, yet at the same time really, the whole journey is just beginning. I cannot wait to see what our future has in store. I cannot wait to walk down that aisle and see you looking back at me. XOXO.....

Happiness

I just love this picture. I took it of my lilies when they finally bloomed a few weeks back and looking at it just makes me happy, plain and simple. I love the fact that I honestly and truly do not need expensive or lavish materialized things to make me feel the way this picture does. This picture does more to me and brings me so much emotion and memory. This image reminds me of the simplistic, yet so complex wonders that surround us everyday. This picture reminds me of so many things: summer, sunshine, lemonade, freedom, creativity, spirit, kindness, the list could go on and on. Just a random thought for today.

Still Rockin!

So yesterday Matt, Troy and I headed to CrueFest along with Cindy and Robbie to rock out to some great bands! It was an awesome time and Papa Roach and Motley Crue definitly stole the show. Today I am still deaf, however it was totally worth it!
Today Matt and I did some running around for the wedding (yet again!) and got our vehicle broken into! We thought we had lost our minds for a minute in that we were missing our overnight bags and thought maybe we had left them mindlessly in a parking lot somewhere. However, tonight we noticed the passenger side lock busted in on Matt's truck! Whew! That is probably the best and worst news all at the same time.
Definitly a rock star ending to a rock star night.

Something Simple Today

Just a simple post today. This weekend was nice and relaxing, as I went out to visit my best friend Hannan. We simply did nothing but catch up and relax. I also introduced her to "Grey's Anatomy" so we did have a little marathon with that as well. What can I say? She was hooked by the end of the first episode! HaHa! It was really nice to just get away and be forced to do nothing. I think everyone needs a little time like that once in a while.. But now it is back home to reality, work, and last minute wedding organization. From now on I can see both my evenings and weekends being filled with stuff to do here and there, but that's OK. Now is the time to enjoy these little moments and jobs, as the wedding day will be here and gone before we all know it. I also need to get my butt back to the gym and into my routine again. I unfortunately fell into a huge slump and desperately need to get back. I was doing so well and then just let myself slip. But, it's all about refocusing and regrouping...which I have full intention of doing. I don't know why it is such a mind game, I feel so much better once I go. Anyway just a little simple post for a Sunday today!

Photo Session at the Park

Here is a collection of photographs I had the pleasure of taking for a girl I went to school with of her beautiful children...as well as herself! I had so much fun capturing all different types of candid moments with the kids, both trying to pose them and then just letting them "be"...which probably gave me the best pictures actually. It was definitly hard to pick my favorites out of the bunch, but these definitly topped my list.
Children take such beautiful photos. It is funny considering how many times a person has to fight to get their attention in attempt to capture that perfect shot. However, in these pictures the most perfect ones are the ones where they are not even looking anyway!:)
I really hope this family adores these pictures as much as I do. Thank you for letting me capture and create art with your children!
Enjoy!

Comfort Zone

Today was such a great day...it was the first time in a long time that I did not have to drive 7+ hours to go and visit my bestfriend...even though those were great times down in Medicine Hat!! However, a 45 minute drive is definitly nothing to complain about!
Kelsey and I hopped in my car and drove out for a spontaneous visit to go and see Hannan and Les's brand new home. It is beautiful and I am so happy for them. And it is so nice to have her close by, whom I can visit pretty much anytime now that I want to!! Of course we had to take some pictures documenting our day. They have the most beautiful yard and the most amazing old rustic barn just beside their driveway. A beautiful photography spot. I am excited because I think this weekend I will be going up to Hannan's and spending the weekend with her, and just simply having some much needed girl time. Movies, snacks, crafting...sounds good to me. Maybe some shopping. It will be so awesome to reconnect and have some good laughs. It is so nice to have my best friend so close by.
