Heidi = Energy IN!

Finally May 30th had arrived! "All Day with Heidi Swapp" was here! In a nutshell, what a "fabulous, fun-filled, ENERGY IN day!" (Thanks Heidi...I absolutely love the concept of ENERGY IN!) And of course, meeting HEIDI SWAPP!!! That in itself is a true "energy in", no doubt! She was incredibly beautiful, inspiring, and endearing in every way (she was also wearing one of the coolest necklaces ever! Loved it!). Her presentation before we started our first project, our energy journal, was fabulous. She was so down to earth and real about her reasonings behind creating this journal. I was totally captivated, as she spoke about energy, energy currencies, risk, change, and reiki! Keeping our energy flow, identifying what makes it change, and how to increase it were definitie "a-ha" moments for me. It was such an awesome presentation and truly made me reflect on even more things in my life that I am both proud of, while simultaneously making me more aware of all the things that still need some more work and serious attention! Getting ready to begin work on my energy journal. Gotta love a clean work space. However, it did not last long! We also recieved the coolest kit packages filled with nothing but goodies and amazing product. There is still so much left over to add to our journal or other projects. This kit also came with the cutest little pink box, that of course I just had to have Heidi sign. A definite reminder for me to keep me motivated and inspired.
The "beautiful mess" is now underway.
Another big highlight for me was having the chance to sit with Sheri. Her and I have got to know each other through our blogs, as well as through the Urban Scrapbook, where she both works and teaches classes. She is such a wonderful and EXTREMELY talented scrapbooker, photographer, and individual! We had such a great time creating together. She is one beautiful person. Can't wait to see you again girl! Heidi making her rounds showcasing her beautiful work during the second half of our class. This time we experimented with distress inks and masks. SO FUN! The results are incredible and I think I found a new love. It is amazing how using these tools can create the most beautiful pages/art. I am loving the transformation of paper. This class definitly made me anticipate Creative Escape even more as I will be having the opportunity to take a class by Tim Holtz, who is the mastermind behind the techniques of distress ink. Fun, fun!

Heidi so graciously signing my pink box.

And, of course this day would not be complete without a photo with Heidi! Thank you so much!:)

Heidi's beautiful collection of pages using masks and distress inks. So gorgeous, these photos do not do them justice at all.

Ending the day with a huge thankyou and hug goodbye from Talia and Kim! I have gotten to know these girls through various scrapbook events and courses over the years and they are the sweetest, most beautiful and talented girls I have come to know (their scrapbooking/projects are AMAZING!). They assisted with Heidi's class and did so much work helping out! Thanks girls! You were incredible and all your efforts are truly appreciated. You helped make the day so much fun and an all out success. Hopefully we can do it all again very soon!

It was such a fabulous weekend.

Feeling completely inspired, blessed, awake and ready!

I am anticipating the week ahead. Time to start anew.

It's time to adopt Heidi's words and philosophy, in her words, "I love the beginning of a new week, I love Monday's!"

Quality Time

There is nothing better than just spending some quality time with someone. I had the chance to just spend some of that "quality time" with one of my most favorite people. We have been close since she was born, and one of my most fondest memories of her is actually leaving the hospital with her after she was born. Since that day, we have been inseparable. Even though there are 7 years between us, we have always just seemed to connect and "get" one another. The age thing has never really been an issue. Even when I was 13 and she was 6. So many memories we have. She is one of the greatest and most beautiful girls I know. So lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for all the great times girl....and countless chats about anything and everything. Friendships like the one we share are truly priceless in every way imaginable.

It's All about ATTITUDE

"Attitude is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than what people do or say. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. The remarkable thing is , we have a choice regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our ATTITUDE." ~Charles Swindoll

She

She is my inspiration. She is my role model.
She is my best friend. She always seems to walk in when the rest of the world walks out.
She is my rock. She is also my sweetest comfort. She softens my landing when I need to fall. She is my strength when mine is low, she is my faith when I feel dark. She is someone who I am continuously learning about more and more each day. She is making me realize and see new things that I once was blind to.
She is my biggest cheerleader in life.
She is my mom.
Here is to celebrating the wonder that is you today!
Happy Mothers Day.
xo
These photographs were taken last Mother's Day as a gift to my mom, by the beatiful and talented Allison, with Moments Photography. Thank you so much for allowing your remarkable talents to capture us that day.

Reconnecting

Our weekend away in Jasper was wonderful. Truly about reconnecting and just simply, being. I loved the simplicity, the relaxation, the "lack of planning". No TV, computers or irritating cell phones interrupting us. Back to the basics...those sweet basics, that so often get pushed aside or hidden away from the everyday world. Welcome back. Just enjoying the time on a whim, going here going there...no real schedule. It was awesome. And the weather...well that was the cherry atop my wonderful birthday gift...and cake! Taking a moment to celebrate our arrival at the beautiful Alpine Village. One of the most enjoyable times that Matt and I shared together was our hike up Maligne Canyon on Saturday. What a gorgeous day, and fun time we had! We shared some great conversation, laughs and thanks for your encouragement babe, as I huffed and puffed my way to the top! It was worth every step to the top, even if you did laugh at me! Matt and I taking a moment to enjoy the day, and the flowing river beside us. It was such a beautiful spot. Thanks babe for the most wonderful birthday gift ever. Just the gift of time spent together, just you and me, really ANYWHERE, would have been amazing. Sometimes in the busy-ness of life it seems like we can lose track and take for granted the time that we are with one another. However, reconnecting with you this weekend was truly the greatest gift. Thank you for wisking me away to Jasper for the weekend and making me feel like a queen the whole time. I looked forward and appreciated each and every minute of it. Thank you. I absolutely cherish all of the memories we create in our life...this life...together. xo
